The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says the collation of results from the Edo State governorship election held yesterday (Saturday) will commence at 10 am today, Sunday September 22.

Dr Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Edo State made the disclosure in a statement issued early Sunday by.

Onuoha assured the public that the collation process would be conducted with full transparency, in line with the commission’s existing regulations.

“This is to inform the general public, stakeholders, and observers that the collation of results for the ongoing Edo State governorship election will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10 am,” the statement read.

Onuoha further said the commission’s commitment to ensuring the collation process follows the laid down guidelines, adding that the patience and cooperation of all parties involved was appreciated.

“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the parties as we strive to ensure a credible and accurate outcome of this important election,” he said.

Onuoha appealed to all stakeholders to remain calm and orderly, assuring that INEC remains dedicated to delivering a free, fair, and transparent election in Edo State.
