There was violence in Benin City yesterday on the 8th of September as a young man was shot dead in his family residence of Mr. Sikpojie. at Ebomwoyo Street GRA Benin city.
Eyewitnesses say the house at Ebomwonyi street was invaded in the afternoon by four masked men and they were heard to be shouting Islamic chants while they were shouting “for Suleman”.
A man lost his life during the process, the man that lost his life to the violent act was named Orobosa Sikpojie. We gathered that it was a case of mistaken identity and the person the armed men were seeking is Samuel Sikpojie, a cousin to the deceased who is wanted in the Sharia system of Kano State for alleged adultery. We also gathered they the resident of Samuel Sikpojie was also attacked is lagos, where properties was destroyed as Samuel Sikpojie and his immedate family has been declared wanted dead or alive by this group.
The police have not issued a statement yet concerning this dastardly act. This act is suspected to have been committed by the Fulani Herdsmen militias and Nigeria military connected to this group who have spread all over the forests bordering Edo State and beyond..
