The Commissioner, Directorate of Riverine Infrastructural Development (DRID), Chief Ebikeme Clark, says long lasting projects are what are needed in the riverine areas.
He made the remarks when the Managing Director of Cedars Integrated Engineering Company, Mr Jamil Zghayyar paid him a courtesy call at his office in Asaba, at the weekend.
While saying that the Directorate would engage contractors their projects would bring joy to the state government and the people, he said the Directorate was out to ensure that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori actualized his MORE Agenda in the riverine areas.
The Directorate, according to him, was created to look into the plight of the riverine areas, saying that only best contractors would be engaged to do quality jobs in the localities.
Chief Clark maintained that the Directorate would not want contractors that would delay projects, but would prefer the ones that would finish their projects at stipulated time.
He said the state governor believes so much in quality jobs, hence he employed the services of Julius Berger Construction Company, adding that he equally inspects projects personally to ensure quality works, describing him (Oborevwori) as a result oriented governor.
Earlier in his address, the Managing Director of Cedars Integrated Engineering Company, Mr Jamil Zghayyar, said he was in the Commissioner’s office to identify with the Directorate, noting he was into quality jobs and that his construction company had executed notable projects across the globe.
