… may deviate from transfer policy
Manchester United are reportedly considering making a rare exception to their transfer policy by signing French international Adrien Rabiot, who is currently a free agent.
Despite their usual focus on younger players, the club is contemplating an offer for the 28-year-old midfielder to address their ongoing midfield issues.
Rabiot, who has been training on his own this summer, is also attracting interest from Newcastle United and Barcelona. With Casemiro’s struggles and the inability to replace Scott McTominay or Sofyan Amrabat, manager Erik ten Hag finds himself in need of additional midfield options.
Rabiot’s mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, has been negotiating hard, causing delays in finalizing a deal. France national coach Didier Deschamps has criticized Rabiot’s situation, noting its impact on his selection for the national team. Rabiot, who has 48 caps for France, will miss their upcoming match against Belgium.
As negotiations proceed, Manchester United must evaluate whether signing Rabiot fits their long-term vision while his future remains up in the air.
