Manchester United is poised for a monumental transformation as partial owner Jim Ratcliffe unveils a £2 billion plan to demolish and rebuild the legendary Old Trafford stadium.

The British businessman has made upgrading the stadium a top priority, addressing long-standing concerns over its lack of proper maintenance.

According to reports, the ambitious project aims to increase the current capacity from 74,000 to a staggering 100,000 fans, potentially catapulting Old Trafford to become one of Europe’s largest stadiums, rivaling Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

Red Devils legend Gary Neville shared his insights on the rebuild, emphasizing the importance of integrating historical elements into the new design. “United will look to integrate historical elements of Old Trafford into their new build,” Neville stated.

Neville acknowledged that most of the existing stands have undergone significant changes since his playing days. “None of the stands that were there when I first went in 1979 are there in the same form. Most of the stands have been built between 1993 and 2005. We’d not be keeping anything that is 100 years old. What is it that we’d be saving?”
