The President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Misa Gusau, has revealed the ministry’s plans to introduce Video Assistant Referees (VAR) in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Gusau made this announcement at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, while addressing journalists after the opening match of the premier league between defending champions, Rangers International, and Wikki Tourists.
He emphasized that implementing VAR requires skilled personnel and stated that the ministry is committed to ensuring that only qualified and well-trained individuals will manage the system.
Gusau further assured that the training and retraining of personnel will be prioritized to guarantee efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
