The Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) Match Day Three fixture between Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin and Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan earlier scheduled to hold in Benin this Saturday, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 2 at 4:00 PM.

The postponement was communicated to the Edo State FA and Bendel Insurance FC on Monday by the NPFL’s management in a circular signed by the Chief Operating Officer, David Owumi.

The Match Day Three postponement is due to the Edo State gubernatorial elections to be held same Saturday, September 21, earlier set date for the fixture.

The Benin Arsenals will be honouring the Match Day Four fixture with Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna on Sunday, September 29.

Recall that Bendel Insurance FC suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Katsina United FC in the Match Day 2 game of the Nigeria Premier Football League Season 2024/2025, that was played at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina state on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

The Chanji Boys came from behind to secure the maximum points following the 20th and 96th goals scored by Lukma Bello and Fallout Azeez .

Bendal Insurance took an early lead courtesy of James Oronsaye’s 17 minutes debute goal which was immediately cancelled by Lukman Bello’s close range header.
