Amid the Super Eagles vs Libya saga, Burkina Faso have become the first team to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, joining hosts Morocco in the prestigious 24-team tournament.

The Burkinabe sealed their place in the finals with a commanding 2-0 win over Burundi on Sunday.

Goals from Mohamed Konate and Bertrand Traore ensured Burkina Faso’s triumph in Group L, bringing their tally to 10 points from four games. Their qualification is now guaranteed, as they will finish in the top two of their group.
