Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday announced the recall of the two remaining lawmakers on suspension, Hon. Donald Okogbe and Hon. Adeh Isibor, after five months on suspension.
Recall that the House had on May 6 suspended Hon. Donald Okogbe (PDP-Akoko-Edo II); Hon. Adeh Isibor (APC-Esan North-East I), and Hon. Bright Iyamu (Orhionmwon South), over an alleged plot to impeach the Speaker and other principal officers.
But Bright Iyamu was recalled in June having been found remorseful according to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku.
At resumption of plenary in Benin City, the Speaker said the House had agreed that the two remaining lawmakers on suspension be recalled.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has congratulated the governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on his victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
Rt. Hon. Agbebaku said the governor-elect was for Edo people and not for the All Progressives Congress (APC) alone and prayed that sycophants do not mislead him.
While welcoming members from a very long recess, Rt. Hon. Agbebaku thanked the lawmakers for painstakingly carrying out their jobs to ensure impactful bills and resolutions.
Also, the House has approved a 57-sitting days calendar for the second quarter, second session of the eight assembly.
