Nigeria’s Edo Queens will face Egypt’s FC Masar today in a crucial CAF Women’s Champions League match, with a semifinal ticket on the line.
Moses Aduku, the head coach of Edo Queens, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure another strong performance following their impressive 3-0 victory over Central Bank of Ethiopia FC in their opening match on Sunday.
Aduku emphasized the importance of each match in the tournament, stating that his team will “approach every match of the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024 like a cup final.”
However, FC Masar promises to be a formidable opponent, having already caused an upset with their 1-0 win against reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
A victory today would put Edo Queens in a prime position to make history by reaching the semifinals of the competition.
Acknowledging the challenge, Aduku noted that the match would not be easy against a confident team like Masar, but he is hopeful his team can rise to the occasion.
