A socio-political organization, Ogbona Diaspora, has congratulated the newly inaugurated Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, urging his administration to prioritize economic and infrastructural development through partnerships with Edo indigenes in the diaspora.

In a congratulatory message signed by the group’s President, Dr. Charles E. Orbih, and Secretary, Captain Frank Asapokhai, the Ogbona Diaspora commended Governor Okpebholo on his ascension to office and called for impactful governance.

“Campaigning is over; now is the time to govern,” the statement read. “As the ‘Heartbeat of the Nation,’ Edo State must reach greater heights under your leadership. Your commitment to the people of Edo State should be paramount during this first term, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact of your policies and initiatives.”

The group expressed their best wishes for the governor’s tenure, hoping it would bring peace, prosperity, and progress to all Edolites.

The Ogbona Diaspora outlined three critical areas they believe the administration should prioritize: Economic Development: Leveraging Edo State’s natural resources and cultural heritage to stimulate growth and create jobs. Infrastructure Development: Upgrading roads, healthcare facilities, clean water, electricity, and education infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for citizens and Security and Safety: Strengthening law enforcement and community engagement to protect lives and property.

Headquartered in the United States, Ogbona Diaspora is a cultural and charitable organization committed to mobilizing human and material resources for the development of the Ogbona community. The group serves as a hub for Ogbona indigenes and friends worldwide.

The organization pledged its readiness to partner with Governor Okpebholo’s administration in identifying areas of cooperation for the development of both Ogbona and Edo State at large.

“We are hopeful that Edo State will thrive under your leadership and become a model for other states to emulate,” the statement concluded.

The Ogbona Diaspora reiterated their commitment to supporting the governor’s vision and wished him success in steering Edo State to new heights.
