Every October 30th has become indelible in the heart of those, children, family and friends, you left 22 years ago. Two day ago, we again remembered and celebrated the life of our beloved father, Mr. Eboigbe Emmanuel Obayagbon, who left us October 30, 2002. Though over two decades have passed, the memories of your love, guidance, and presence remain glowing in our minds.
Your legacy lives on through the values – integrity, steadfastness, selflessness, uprightness, hard work – you instilled in us, the laughter we shared, and the lessons you taught. Though a strict disciplinarian, saying always, ‘hardwork does not kill”; sincerely, we say we miss your warm embrace and love, your comforting words, and your unwavering support, especially when we confide in you.
The children you left behind are all doing well except Monday who left us June 2022 to the cold hands of death through diabetes, but be consoled where you are that he left you three grandchildren, who are also doing well. Since you left us some of your grandchildren are now fathers and mothers excelling in their various fields of endeavour. Be rest assured we are still transmitting the values you left us to our children and grandchildren, which we also know they will pass onto their children’s children.
As we reflect on all these years without you, we honour your memory by continuing to strive for the dreams you envisioned for us – approaching life with all seriousness, saying it is better to be honest and poor than to be rich with dishonesty. Your influence on our lives remains insightful, and we are indebted for every moment we share.
Continue to rest in peace, dear father. Your love and spirit, above all, the values you stood for and instilled in us, will continue to inspire us to live an upright life even in the face of hopelessness.
