Athletes for the 2024 Lagos Women Run set for November 9, will begin collecting their kits on Tuesday, November 5, at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Kits will include a running vest, bib, goody bag, certificate, medal, and sponsors’ products. Early arrivals (first 500 persons) will receive special vouchers.
Alongside the kit distribution, an exhibition will showcase a variety of vocational training sessions, including basic painting, skincare, tie-dye, food packaging, and computer skills, providing a holistic experience for attendees. The exhibition emphasizes skill development and empowerment, aiming to support women’s growth beyond the race itself.
Initiated by Gym Assured in partnership with the Lagos State Government, the Lagos Women Run has grown annually since its 2016 launch. It aims to foster a fitness culture while addressing social issues aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as gender equality, education, and poverty reduction.
This year, the event anticipates a turnout of around 200,000 women from Nigeria and beyond, with the Lagos State Government providing high-standard medical facilities, security, and traffic management.
The event serves as a powerful platform for unity and empowerment, using fitness to spotlight key challenges facing women today.
