Ademola Lookman delivered a brilliant performance, helping Atalanta dismantle Serie A leaders Napoli with a commanding 3-0 win on Sunday, marking a career low for Napoli’s manager, Antonio Conte, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian winger set the tone early, scoring two expertly-taken goals in the first half. Lookman’s opener silenced the crowd at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as he capitalized on a poor clearance from Napoli’s Matias Olivera. Charles De Ketelaere’s clever flick found Lookman, who volleyed the ball in from a tight angle, ending Napoli’s streak of three consecutive clean sheets.

Lookman doubled Atalanta’s lead shortly after, with a stunning solo effort that saw him glide past Giovanni Di Lorenzo and fire a powerful shot past Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret.

Despite Napoli’s attempts to claw back in the second half — including a powerful strike from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia — Atalanta’s defense held strong. Mateo Retegui added the finishing touch in stoppage time, converting a cross from Matteo Ruggeri with a low volley to seal Atalanta’s victory.

Conte’s loss to Atalanta was especially painful, as Opta noted it was only the second time in his Serie A career he has lost at home by a three-goal margin, the previous occasion being a 5-2 defeat to Juventus in 2009.

While Napoli remains top of the table, Atalanta’s win propels them to second place, trailing by just three points.
