Sporting Lisbon coach, Ruben Amorim has been announced head coach of Manchester United to replace Erik Ten Hag.
United were able to pay Sporting an extra €1m (£840,000) as demanded on top of his €10m (£8.4m) exit clause to speed up his release from the 30-day notice period.
The 39-year old Portuguese coach is set to join Red Devils by November 11 and his contract runs through to June 2025.
His first job will be against Ipswich on the 24th of the November, until then, Ruud Van Nistelroy will continue as interim coach of the club.
The Portuguese after leaving Braga, joined Sporting Lisbon FC in March 2020, establishing himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after young coaches, twice guiding the Club to the Primeira Liga title.
Amorim has also won the Taca da Liga (the Portuguese League Cup) on three occasions, twice with Sporting and once with Braga.
