As the Super Eagles intensify preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 qualifiers, head coach Augustine Eguavoen has invited a total of 30 players to camp.

The team is gearing up for the first leg of the qualification fixture against Ghana’s Black Stars B, scheduled for December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium, while the second leg will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on December 28.

According to a statement by Ademola Olajire, the NFF’s Head of Communications, the invited players are expected to arrive at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday. The list of players includes a mix of experienced and young talents, with Kano Pillars’ evergreen midfielder Rabiu Ali, who has scored eight goals this season, being one of the notable inclusions.

Other players called up include Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Rivers United defender Steven Mayo, and Abia Warriors’ exciting forward Sunday Megwo. Enyimba FC goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena, Remo Stars’ wing-back Ismail Sadiq, Enugu Rangers’ midfield ace Kazeem Ogunleye, and Nasarawa United forward Anas Yusuf are also part of the squad.

The CHAN tournament, in its 8th edition, is exclusively reserved for footballers plying their trade with clubs in their country’s domestic leagues and possessing standard contracts. The finals are scheduled to take place in February, jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The Super Eagles B will be looking to secure a spot in the CHAN finals, and coach Eguavoen will be relying on the experience and skills of players like Rabiu Ali and Henry Ozoemena to guide the team through the qualifiers.
