Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has commended the Edo State Chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) for their role in supporting legislators who drive policy-making and development programs in the state. Idahosa made this statement on March 13 at the Edo State Government House while receiving PASAN members in his office.

Speaking as a former legislator, Idahosa emphasized the importance of legislative bills in maintaining peace and stability. He recalled that upon assuming office, the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo faced challenges of insecurity and cultism, but the passage of key laws helped restore order. He expressed gratitude to PASAN members for their contributions in this regard.

Idahosa assured PASAN that the state government values their role and will continue to seek their collaboration to maintain a strong relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government. He further assured them that their concerns and requests would be conveyed to the governor.

The chairman of PASAN, Edo State Chapter, Comrade Umar Haruna, praised the state government’s effectiveness and lauded Idahosa’s advocacy efforts. However, the group also highlighted their need for a bus to ease transportation challenges and solicited government support.

In a separate visit, a sociocultural group, “Umagbae Ne Edo,” also known as the Daughters of Benin Kingdom, met with the deputy governor. The group, dedicated to preserving the culture, language, and heritage of the Benin people, discussed their initiatives aimed at cultural revival.
