OKE-IRHUE – The people of Oke, Irhue and Uhiere villages in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State have expressed concern over the abandoned, Ehor- Irhue – Oke – Uhiere road project .

The stake-holders of the road project, including farmers and transporters, lamented the non completion of the road project which they said has in many ways affected them as inhabitants of the area.

Speaking with The Nigerian Observer at Irhue village, a community leader who craved anonymity, conveyed the fears and worries of stakeholders regarding what he called the poor handling and later withdrawal of the contractor from the road project which covers Ehor – Benin – Auchi Express Way and terminates at Uhiere.

The road, it was observed serves a bypass in the event of a gridlock on the ever busy Benin Auchi Road.

One Mr. Osagle in Oke village called on the Governor Monday Okpebholo’s led administration to fix the road because of its economic viability.

‘It’s absolutely alright to emphasize that the said road passes through Okomu Oil farms,” he said

Another stakeholder however called on Okomu Oil Palm plc, to synergize with the state government, to ensure that, the road project is completed.
