Benin City, March 10, 2025 – The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor as the Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on behalf of the Edo State Government.
Dr. Ogboro-Okor, a UK-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, brings a wealth of experience in medicine, humanitarian work, and global advocacy. She is a Medical Simulator Expert, a prolific writer, and a Global Goodwill and United Nations Eminent Ambassador.
Her academic credentials include degrees from the University of Benin, the University of Edinburgh, and Sheffield Hallam University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law and Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University, focusing on illegal migration, human trafficking, and contemporary slavery.
Dr. Ogboro-Okor also leads the Edo Diaspora Working Group and the Edo State Focus Group Worldwide, positioning her as a key figure in engaging Edo indigenes in the diaspora for the state’s development.
