His Royal Majesty,Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin at the weekend held a special thanksgiving at the Holy Aruosa Cathedral in Benin City to mark the successful completion of the burial rites of Iyoba Omo N’Ikuoyemwen, Iyoba Ewuare II.
The event was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Benin Kingdom, including the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Hon. Dennis Idahosa; Senator Neda Imasuen, Edo South Senatorial District representatives, Speakr, Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku; House of Representatives members, Palace Chiefs, Enigie, and other dignitaries.
The ceremony commenced with the grand arrival of the chief celebrant, Oba Ewuare II, alongside members of the royal household.
The thanksgiving service was led by Ohen-Osa Igbinoghodua Edibiri of the Holy Aruosa Cathedral, who, in his sermon, urged the people to remain content with God’s blessings.
He warned that discontentment could lead to missed opportunities for greater blessings.
The Ohen-Osa congratulated the Oba on the successful completion of the burial rites and noted the significance of the thanksgiving, which coincided with the celebration of Mother’s Day.
The highlight of the occasion was the special thanksgiving offering by the Oba, who was joined by members of the royal family, Palace Chiefs, Enigie, government functionaries, and other well-wishers.
