Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan have been expelled from the 2025 President Federation Cup after being found guilty of fielding ineligible players in their first-round match against Zamfara United FC.
The Oluyole Warriors, who initially progressed to the round of 32 due to Zamfara United FC’s absence, have now been disqualified from the competition.
A letter from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), signed by the director for competition, Ruth David, revealed that Shooting Stars fielded five unregistered players in their match.
According to the letter “It has come to our attention that your club fielded five [5] ineligible players who are not registered with the NFF for this edition of the competition.”
The ineligible players were identified as: Samuel Okon (Jersey No 21) Sodiq Ibrahim (Jersey No 27) Ephraim Nwachukwu (Jersey No 20) Nonso Nzediegwu (Jersey NO 23) and Ukeme Williams (Jersey No 5)
The NFF further alleged that the player licenses used by these players were forged. #
