The Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Honourable Kelvin Ighodaro Eguakun, has commenced the rehabilitation of a deteriorated section of the service lane along the Ugbowo expressway, bringing hope of relief to road users who have long endured the hardship of navigating the failed portion.

Speaking to journalists during the project inspection, the Chairman stressed the significance of road infrastructure, describing it as a vital link between government and the people.

He explained that the ongoing repairs, which began at Tomline office complex site stretched up to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), forming part of a broader strategy to enhance road connectivity in the area.

Honourable Eguakun also revealed that the project is in fulfilment of a commitment he made to the Uselu community during a courtesy visit.

He underscored the importance of good roads in fostering a sense of inclusion among residents and urged the public to see infrastructural development as a shared responsibility that requires collective support.

The rehabilitation, according to the Chairman, will be executed in phases. The first phase will be completed before the second commences, with full asphalting planned to ensure durability.

He called on residents of Egor to support the ongoing reform agenda of the Edo State Government, reiterating that sustainable development is a collective effort that cuts across all sectors.

In a show of appreciation, a National Youth Service Corps member serving in Egor, Chinaza Paul, thanked the Chairman for the swift response to the pressing road issue, acknowledging the positive impact the repairs would have on daily commuting.
