The Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), Hon. Oladele Bankole Balogun, has called on the people of Edo State to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ in their daily lives.

In his Easter message, Balogun described the season as a time for sober reflection on the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.

He emphasised the importance of love, unity, and selflessness, urging citizens to embody the spirit of Easter not just during the holiday, but at all times.

He also encouraged the people of Edo State to critically assess the current administration and consider how best they can support the government’s efforts to advance the state.

“We must put our acts together and build a state that will leave a legacy for generations yet unborn,” he said.

“We cannot afford to hand over a future defined by hatred, conflict, or division when there is so much to achieve in terms of development.”

Addressing the political class, Balogun advised politicians to accept electoral outcomes in good faith and adopt a progressive mindset in line with the slogan, ‘A New Edo Has Risen.’

“You can’t win all the time. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you must learn to be gracious in defeat,” he added.
