The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Honourable Sylvester Aigboboh as Acting Deputy State Chairman.
This development is part of efforts to reinforce the State Executive Council of the party ahead of critical political engagements.
Aigboboh, who played a prominent role in securing victory for the APC and Governor Monday Okpebholo during the last governorship election, is expected to bring his strategic experience and political insight to bear in the new position.
The announcement, made through a press release from the party’s state secretariat, also confirmed the regularization of Emperor Khalifa Jaret Tenebe as the substantive State Chairman. Tenebe had previously served in an acting capacity.
The APC further disclosed that Pedro Esangbedo has been appointed Acting Vice Chairman for the Edo Central Senatorial District, following the defection of Chief Francis Inegbeniki to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Inegbeniki had served as Vice Chairman until his exit from the party.
The party explained that the appointments were necessary to maintain organisational effectiveness and are in full accordance with its constitution.
“In accordance with the provisions of the APC constitution and for the continued efficiency of the party’s operations, it became imperative to fill these positions with individuals of proven character and integrity,” the statement said.
The new appointments, the party noted, are aimed at strengthening internal administration and ensuring seamless leadership as the APC continues to consolidate its position in Edo politics.
