The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Olorogun Ese Kakor, the President of the Neo Black Movement (NBM) of Africa, in connection with the alleged forgery of official state government documents.

Governor Okpebholo has petitioned both the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, urging them to take swift action.

In the petition, the Governor accused Kakor of forging documents that falsely claimed to authorise him to provide support to schools within the Edo South Senatorial District.

Okpebholo condemned the act as not only fraudulent but also a direct attack on the integrity of the state’s administrative processes.

The Governor labelled the alleged forgery as criminal and deceitful, stating that it was executed in collaboration with certain low-level civil servants within the state bureaucracy.

These civil servants have already been identified and arrested, and a police investigation is currently underway to assess their involvement and determine the extent of their culpability.

Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that all those implicated in the scandal will face prosecution in accordance with the law.

He also addressed concerns regarding the Neo Black Movement’s activities in the state, stating that the land title on which the NBM headquarters was established in Edo has been revoked due to the group’s alleged involvement in violent crimes and unlawful actions within the region.

The Governor called on both the Nigeria Police Force and the DSS to intensify efforts against criminal organisations and ensure that all responsible parties are brought to justice.
