In honour of the forthcoming 50th birthday of renowned broadcaster and Public Relations strategist, Moses Uyi Osaretin, the Bedrock Human Development Foundation has pledged support for a humanitarian initiative titled “50 Free Surgeries for 50 Indigent Persons.”
In a letter dated May 19, 2025, and signed by the Chairman and Founder of the Foundation, Engr. (Dr.) Osa Owieadolor, the organisation lauded Osaretin for embracing a legacy of compassion and altruism as he prepares to celebrate his golden jubilee.
Describing the initiative as “a powerful reflection of your character, compassion, and commitment to the well-being of the less privileged,” the Foundation expressed its delight in being part of such a noble cause.
To this end, it announced a donation of ₦1,000,000 to assist in delivering life-changing surgical interventions to underserved Nigerians.
The project, which will offer free eye surgeries, intermediate procedures, and major operations, has already commenced.
Notably, two indigent women suffering from uterine fibroids are presently undergoing surgery under the programme, providing early evidence of its positive impact and the hope it offers.
This medical outreach is being executed in collaboration with Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital (IUTH), Okada, and is one of the highlight events leading up to Osaretin’s 50th Birthday Lecture.
The commemorative lecture is slated for 29 August 2025 and will centre on the theme: “The Journey of Life: The Essence of Giving Back.”
As preparations continue, the organisers are appealing to well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations, and philanthropic bodies to lend their support to this compassionate initiative, helping to restore health and dignity to vulnerable Nigerians.
