The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has taken an active role in a high-level pre-Arafat coordination meeting held on Monday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting, chaired by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, brought together key stakeholders to finalise arrangements for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
Speaking from Makkah via a WhatsApp voice note, the Chairman of the Edo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, confirmed that the meeting served as a strategic platform to address an expansive range of issues critical to the smooth conduct of the Hajj rites.
He was accompanied by the Board’s Executive Secretary, Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir.
Mallam Uduimoh highlighted the core issues discussed at the meeting, including detailed briefings on tent and feeding arrangements in Mina and Arafat, which are essential for ensuring the comfort and sustenance of pilgrims during the peak days of the Hajj.
Medical readiness was also reviewed extensively, with emphasis on proactive healthcare provisions aimed at supporting the wellbeing of all Nigerian pilgrims.
The meeting also focused on security protocols, with key safety tips shared to enhance the overall security framework for the pilgrimage.
Among the digital innovations discussed was the implementation of the Nusuk card, a vital tool for pilgrim identification and access to services.
Additionally, the logistics of Taradudiya (transportation) and Jamarat (stoning ritual) were thoroughly examined to ensure the efficient movement and organisation of pilgrims during the rites.
The Edo State delegation’s active participation in the pre-Arafat meeting reflects the Board’s firm commitment to the welfare of its pilgrims.
By collaborating closely with NAHCON and other national stakeholders, the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board continues to demonstrate its resolve to deliver a spiritually fulfilling and logistically seamless Hajj experience for all pilgrims under its care.
