Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa on Friday commissioned three Sienna buses and two motorbikes at Iguobazuwa, headquarters of Ovia South West Local Government Area, for use by security personnel to strengthen the security architecture of the area.

Idahosa who represented Governor Monday Okpebholo at the event commended the Acting Charman of the Local Government Council Hon. Charles Nosakhare Edobor for his foresight at actualizing the vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo on security, a move designed for a safer Edo.

 The deputy governor said the donation of the vehicles and motorbikes for patrol and surveillance by the Nigeria Police Force and the Edo Security Corps would assist the local government at securing lives and properties of residents.

Idahosa said he was particularly proud of the developmental strides of the Acting Chairman saying’, “this is what mentorship and political goodwill is all about as people, in no distant time, would point in the direction of the deputy governor and the chairman as sons who did their people proud”.

He said the Council Chairman, Charles Nosakhare Edobor displayed grit and tenacity by making the Legislative Arm of the council fully operational and active with the provision of a Hiace minibus.

Idahosa said the display of hard work, by Edobor showed resilience at ensuring development, peace and prosperity of Ovia people. He opined that with the support of  chairmen and their legislative arm of government, Edo State would be one of the best states in Nigeria. 

Idahosa proceeded on a guided tour to the Legislative building and the renovation of the “Central store” building of the council even as he made enquiries into remote causes and delays in the completion of the “Computer based centre.”

Idahosa interacted and boosted the morale of the Edo Security Corps who stood guard during this visitation. He reminded them that as beneficiaries of two Sienna buses, the responsibilities and security of lives and properties rested squarely on their shoulders.

Idahosa also performed the ground breaking and foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a block of six classrooms by the Council boss at Udo Primary School still in the local government area.

He used the occasion to call for cooperation from the local, state and federal governments to make life meaningful for the masses of Edo State, avowing that this was what governance was all about.

He thanked party leaders, amongst whom was Hon. Sunday Aghedo, religious leaders, teachers, women and pupils whose participation made the events memorable.

Hon. Charles Nosakhare Edobor thanked party leaders and elders for their advise which culminated in the projects commissioning.

 He said he would put in concerted efforts to make things work in the local government council to make it one of the safest council areas in Nigeria, in addition delivering dividends of democracy at the doorsteps of the people.
