… Promises inclusiveness, unity ahead of 2027 polls

ABUJA — Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori on Monday officially assumed office as Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), promising to lead with transparency, inclusiveness, and unity of purpose, while rallying party members to begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Addressing members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Dalori thanked them for their loyalty and support, pledging to work in partnership to safeguard the party’s unity, discipline, and collective direction.

He urged members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to remain focused on delivering good governance to Nigerians, deepening internal democracy within the party, and strengthening structures at the grassroots level.

Dalori, until yesterday, the Deputy National Chairman (North), emerged as acting chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje, who led the party from August 2023 after Abdullahi Adamu’s resignation.

Ganduje’s departure, supported by the APC’s Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), was announced at the conclusion of the PGF’s two-day strategic regional meeting held in Benin City, Edo State, hosted by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

In a statement at the weekend, the APC governors said Ganduje’s resignation was a unanimous decision that aligns with the party’s “continued evolution” towards strengthening its internal cohesion and electoral readiness.

Dalori, addressing the NWC, stressed the need for members to “keep their eyes on the bigger picture” of consolidating the party’s hold on power by reconnecting with Nigerians and delivering on the party’s promises.
