Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved three major infrastructure projects for Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, in what the institution’s management described as a major boost to academic growth and accreditation readiness.
The projects include the construction of a 1,500-seater lecture theatre, twin 300-capacity lecture theatres, and a 600-bed hostel to ease accommodation challenges faced by students.
Announcing the approvals during the 134th Inaugural Lecture of the university, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, commended Governor Okpebholo for his “unwavering support” to the institution.
“His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, demonstrated his commitment on Tuesday, 19th August, 2025, by approving these critical projects which will not only address pressing infrastructure needs, but also prepare the university for seamless accreditation,” Prof. Samuel stated.
The Vice Chancellor assured staff and students that their welfare remains a priority for the university’s management, while urging the university community to continually uphold the governor in prayers.
Speaking further on the lecture delivered by Prof. Emmanuel Eghe Egbon, he said the platform showcased AAU’s dedication to knowledge advancement and real-world problem solving. He noted that the lecture highlighted the institution’s innovative research and its role in driving sustainable scientific breakthroughs.
