BENIN CITY — Prof. Felix Oriakhi of the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State has commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for transforming the state from “disarray to harmony” within nine months of his administration.
Speaking at the Stakeholders’ Sensitization Workshop organised by the Ministry of Information and Communication in Benin, Prof. Orhiakhi said the governor has kept his campaign promises, improved relations with traditional institutions, and revitalised Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
He described the governor’s leadership style as “Okpebholism,” a commitment to delivering tangible progress in record time.
He urged citizens, including opposition parties, to support and pray for the governor to sustain the momentum.
Head of Service, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, representing the governor, noted that from the day after assuming office on November 12, 2024, Okpebholo began inspecting projects, demonstrating a pragmatic and intentional approach to governance.
Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, said the purpose of the third stakeholders’ workshop was to assess the administration’s journey so far, highlighting achievements in education, road and drainage construction, agriculture for food security, revival of the New Edo Line, anti-cultism campaigns, and the ongoing construction of the state’s first flyover.
First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, described the governor as a leader determined to give back to the state and pursue policies that benefit the people.
