UHEN, EDO STATE — Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has declared that the opponents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Barr. Gabriella Omosede Igbinedion, stand little chance in the August 16 Ovia Federal Constituency bye-election, claiming they won’t secure up to one percent of the vote.

Speaking during the APC’s Ward-to-Ward campaign in Uhen and Isiuwa, Idahosa described Omosede as a true daughter of the constituency and called on supporters to mobilise voters for her victory.

“We’re not here to joke. This is her home, and she deserves full support. We’re united now to make Ovia better,” he said.

Omosede, flanked by party leaders and former aspirants, thanked Idahosa for backing her and promised to prioritise healthcare, electrification, and agricultural support if elected.

She urged grassroots voter education to avoid past mistakes where supporters unknowingly voted for the wrong candidate due to party logo confusion.

“I have no regrets joining the APC. It’s not just afloat, it’s sailing strong, a beautiful yacht ready for all,” she said.

The campaign also welcomed new defectors into the APC, officially received by the Ovia North-East party chairman, Hon. Solomon Odemwingie.
