The Coordinator, Office of the Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has commended the Renewed Hope Initiative’s (RHI) National Scholarship Programme, describing educational empowerment as a crucial catalyst for personal and societal development.
Speaking during the RHI Midterm Assessment and Interactive Session with National Scholars at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Mrs. Anani highlighted the initiative’s transformative power in bridging gaps, unlocking opportunities, and enabling individuals to reach their full potential.
“Empowerment through education is at the core of our mission,” she said.
“By providing students with the tools and resources they need to succeed, we are not only transforming their lives but also shaping the future of our society. Education has the power to break cycles of poverty, challenge stereotypes, and unlock potential.”
She praised the initiative spearheaded by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, noting its impact on students such as Miss Eigbirenmonlen Sonia, a 300-level Zoology student at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
“I am delighted to see a student from Edo State benefit from this programme,” Mrs. Anani said, adding that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to empowering citizens, particularly women and youths.
Beneficiaries and guests, including Miss Eigbirenmonlen, expressed gratitude for the life-changing opportunity.
The highpoint of the event was the disbursement of the third tranche of scholarship funds to 47 students, each receiving ₦1 million and a brand-new laptop.
