ABUJA: The National Working Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party on Wednesday condemned the purported suspension of the party’s Kano State Chairman, Mr Hashimu Dungurawa, describing it as misplaced, undemocratic, null and void.

The party, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Ladipo Johnson, in Abuja, said the purported suspension was of no effect whatsoever.

Johnson said that some questionable executive members of the party in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, allegedly announced Dungurawa’s suspension.

He said the action amounted to gross anti-party activity and violated the provisions of the party’s constitution.

Johnson described Dungurawa as a conscientious, hardworking and dutiful chairman whose leadership and performance had been remarkable, contributing significantly to the progress of the party in the state.
