Bendel Insurance Football Club, Thursday evening experienced unexpected hitch and hiccups in their bid to bounce back to winning ways as they shared the spoils with visiting FC Barau of Kano in the match day 23 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) that ended 0-0 in Benin.

The Benin Arsenals came into the game looking good enough to triumph over the less fancied but stubborn opponents in the first half but the visitors’ resistance made it impossible.

Both teams laboured to a goalless draw after several wasted efforts in the match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium. The goalless stalemate made it two games without any goal for the Benin Arsenals who have been in fine form with nine games unbeaten record until the match day 22 against Shooting Stars in Ibadan.

Coach Kennedy Boboye made five changes in the second half in his search for a goal but the visitors had their plans well executed as their defense and goalkeeper’s heroics saved a point for them to take home.

Substitute Qamar Adegoke scored the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute to halt the Benin Arsenals’ impressive run.

Recall that Bendel Insurance FC and Barau FC in their first round meeting on September 7,2025 also settled for a 1-1 draw this season.

Currently, Bendel Insurance FC are 8th on the table with 33 points while Barau FC hold 16th position.

The Benin Arsenals have another tough task as they travel to Minna,Niger state on Sunday to face Niger Tornadoes in a revised fixture. Tornadoes suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first round meeting in Benin on September 13,2025.
