ABUJA — The national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza remained sealed on Monday, contrary to assurances by the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led caretaker committee.
A PDP faction backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had announced the reopening following INEC consultations, expressing optimism that normal activities would resume.
However, journalists found the premises inaccessible, with razor wire still blocking entrances and police maintaining a heavy security presence.
The secretariat was sealed on November 19, 2025, after clashes between rival factions led by Taminu Turaki and Abdulrahman Mohammed. While reopening was suggested by Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, the Turaki-led NWC cautioned that access amid ongoing litigation could constitute contempt of court.
