ABUJA — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Ade Omole, has described the successful conduct of the party’s just-concluded national convention as clear evidence of its determination to advance Nigeria’s development agenda.

Speaking with journalists on Monday in Abuja, Omole said the convention further reinforced the party’s democratic credentials, noting that the unity and energy displayed by members reflected a readiness to build on past achievements.

“The energy and unity demonstrated at the national convention clearly showed that APC is not only prepared but determined to consolidate on its achievements and move the country forward,” he said.

Omole added that the outcome of the convention positioned the party to secure a stronger mandate for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, emphasising the strategic importance of the diaspora in that effort.

He described the convention as transparent, peaceful and well-coordinated, adding that it underscored the party’s institutional maturity and commitment to internal democracy.

The former Director of the APC Diaspora Campaign Directorate in the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council commended the more than 8,000 delegates from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as well as other stakeholders, for their orderly conduct.

Omole also expressed confidence in the Tinubu administration’s economic direction, noting that ongoing reforms were already yielding results despite prevailing socio-economic challenges.

He maintained that the president had demonstrated courage and vision in tackling long-standing structural issues that previous administrations had been unable to address.

While acknowledging that the road ahead would require sacrifice, unity and patriotism, Omole urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration, stressing that sustained commitment from citizens remained critical to achieving national progress.

He also called on APC members to remain united and committed to the party’s ideals, urging them to close ranks and work collectively toward the country’s development.
