BENIN CITY: The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday inaugurated its State Executive Council, charging members to strengthen party structures and consolidate electoral gains ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the ceremony at the party secretariat in Benin City, the State Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, described the newly elected executives as a “driving force” that would steer the party over the next four years.
Tenebe said the executives were chosen based on their integrity and contributions to the growth of the party.
According to him, the inauguration followed the successful ward and local government congresses, reflecting the party’s commitment to internal democracy and unity.
He also highlighted the defection of members from other political parties into the APC, describing the development as a “political tsunami” that has strengthened the party across Edo State.
The chairman reaffirmed the party’s alignment with the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the SHINE Agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
He urged the new executives to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure greater participation of youths and women in the party’s activities.
Tenebe also commended party members for their peaceful conduct during the congresses and appreciated the media for supporting democratic engagement and public awareness.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, he expressed confidence that the APC in Edo State would deliver overwhelming support for the party’s candidates.
