The High Court of Justice, Edo State, has announced its Easter recess for the year 2026, with court activities scheduled to pause for a brief period in April.
In a press release issued by the Office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice, Benin City, the Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon. Justice D.I. Okungbowa, directed that the Easter recess will commence on Monday, April 6, 2026, and end on Friday, April 10, 2026, both dates inclusive.
According to the statement, normal court sittings will resume on Monday, April 13, 2026.
The directive was issued in compliance with the provisions of Order 46 Rules 4(b) and 5 of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2018.
All members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Benin, Ekpoma, Auchi, Igarra, and Uromi branches, as well as the general public are to take note.
