BENIN CITY — Benin City will on March 21, 2026 host the Project Leadership Summit 2026, an initiative designed to strengthen leadership development and improve project management practices aimed at achieving sustainable development outcomes.
The summit, themed “Beyond Delivery: Creating Sustainable Impact Through Projects,” seeks to reposition the Edo State capital as a regional hub for project leadership excellence while equipping professionals with the skills required to measure and create lasting value through well-managed initiatives.
Convener of the summit, Philip Neil Gideon, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Benin City, noting that the event will attract participants from across the South-South geopolitical zone.
According to him, the summit is structured to provide practical training and knowledge sharing that will help both experienced professionals and new entrants in the field improve their competence in project management and leadership.
Gideon explained that the South-South region currently witnesses significant project activities across sectors such as construction, energy, information and communication technology, and development initiatives, but lacks a coordinated platform where professionals can exchange ideas, strengthen standards and enhance project outcomes.
“The South-South has tremendous project activity across construction, energy, ICT and development, but we lack a structured forum for professionals to learn, collaborate, elevate standards and transform development outcomes,” he said.
He added that the summit will feature seasoned professional speakers, hands-on training sessions and the launch of the Edo Project Managers Network, an initiative aimed at promoting continuous professional development and collaboration among project management practitioners in the state and beyond.
