ABUJA: The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has extended its student loan application portal for institutions that formally requested additional time for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The extension was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by Mrs Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications, Abuja.
NELFUND Managing Director and CEO, Akintunde Sawyerr, explained that the extension was to ensure eligible students could complete their applications on the official portal.
“NELFUND remains committed to ensuring that eligible students across participating institutions have the opportunity to access the student loan programme,” he said.
Sawyerr urged students in affected institutions to take advantage of the extension and reaffirmed NELFUND’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable financing solutions to remove financial barriers to higher education
