BENIN CITY: As preparations for the Multiple District 404 Convention 2026 of Lions International, themed “Asaba Amaka,” gain momentum, organisers have assured that all arrangements are on course.
Speaking to the newsmen, Lion (Dr) Ibrahim Jide Bello, Multiple Council Chairperson, described the annual convention as a premier event that unites Lions globally to inspire, serve, and foster community development.
Past District Governor and Chairperson of the Multiple District Convention Committee (MDCC), Lion Patricia Udeme, said, “We’re thrilled to host the Lions International Convention 2026, Asaba Amaka! Our team is working tirelessly to ensure a seamless experience. Venue preparations, logistics, and programming are well underway.
“Registration across the six districts of Multiple District 404 is gaining traction,” according to Lion Sylvia Effah, Chairperson of the Registration Committee.
Host District Governor, Lion (Dr) Robinson Omonigho-Okoro, added, “Asaba, our vibrant host city, is ready to welcome Lions from around the world. With its rich culture, scenic views, and warm hospitality, it is the perfect backdrop for this convention.”
The convention will feature a variety of activities, including competitive football matches between districts, novelty matches for District Governors and Past District Governors, 4x100m relay races, aerobics sessions, cultural nights, banquets, and sightseeing tours, said Lion Sandra Onianwa, Chairperson of the Sports Sub-Committee.
