BENIN CITY — A technology innovator, Emmanuel Asekhame, has encouraged Nigerians to remain resilient amid prevailing economic challenges and embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to stability, self-reliance and growth.

In a message of hope and empowerment, Asekhame said Nigeria has always stood out for its resilience, creativity and indomitable spirit, stressing that difficult times should inspire innovation rather than despair.

“Nigeria has always been a nation of resilience, creativity and unyielding spirit,” he said. “While the present circumstances may seem difficult, I firmly believe that better days lie ahead. This is not the time to retreat; it is the time to rethink, rebuild and rise.”

He underscored the importance of small and medium-scale enterprises, particularly ventures that require little or no start-up capital, urging Nigerians to identify service-based and skill-driven opportunities that align with their talents, passions and existing abilities.

According to him, many viable business opportunities can be launched with limited resources, especially in areas such as marketing, consulting, digital services, logistics, tutoring, content creation and trade.

“Each individual carries within them a seed of greatness,” Asekhame said. “Whether it is in marketing, consulting, digital services, logistics, tutoring, content creation or trade, there are countless opportunities that can be started with minimal resources but a clear vision.”

He noted that the digital age has made it easier for individuals to promote their services, connect with customers and build sustainable income streams without heavy upfront investment.

“Start with what you have. Use your knowledge, your network and your determination. Let your goal be legitimate, your process be consistent, and your integrity be unwavering. Growth may be gradual, but it will be meaningful and lasting,” he added.

Asekhame also called on Nigerians to support local businesses and foster collaboration for collective progress, saying national development would be better driven when citizens create value, solve problems and contribute positively to their communities.

“As we build, let us build together. When one Nigerian rises, we all rise. Let us create value, solve problems, and contribute positively to our communities,” he said.

He expressed confidence in the country’s future, urging citizens not to lose hope.

“The story of Nigeria is still being written, and each of us holds the pen. Let it be a story of courage, innovation and eventual triumph. Hold on to hope, because better is not just coming, it is within our reach,” Asekhame said.
