BENIN CITY: Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has paid glowing tribute to former Edo State governor and senator representing Edo North, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, as he marked his 74th birthday, describing him as a leader whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
In a goodwill message released on Saturday, Okpebholo, on behalf of the government and people of Edo State, celebrated Oshiomhole’s life of service and his contributions to governance and national development.
The governor recalled Oshiomhole’s journey from his days as a labour leader to his emergence as Governor of Edo State, noting that he demonstrated courage, integrity and a deep commitment to the welfare of the people.
According to him, Oshiomhole’s administration laid a solid foundation for reform-driven governance and helped restore public confidence in leadership in Edo State.
Okpebholo also acknowledged Oshiomhole’s influence beyond the state, citing his tenure as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during which he championed unity, discipline and progressive ideals across the country.
He further commended the former governor’s continued service as senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, saying his voice remains impactful in the National Assembly and a source of pride to the people of Edo State.
The governor prayed for continued good health, strength and many more years of impactful service for the former governor.
“As you mark this milestone, we celebrate your achievements and the values you embody. Your guidance and mentorship remain invaluable,” Okpebholo said.
He wished Oshiomhole a happy 74th birthday and described him as an elder statesman whose leadership and service have left an enduring mark on Edo State and the nation.
