EKPOMA – The Majority Leader of Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu, has formally flagged off his re-election campaign for a second term, drawing a large turnout of party faithful and stakeholders in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area.
The well-attended event featured key political figures, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku; former Speaker, Hon. Thomas Okosun; lawmakers, party leaders, and other stakeholders.
Addressing supporters, Ibhamawu expressed appreciation to party leaders, associates, and residents for their strong backing and endorsement of his second-term ambition.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the transformation of Esan West and Edo State, pledging to consolidate on existing achievements while intensifying efforts towards sustainable growth and development across the constituency.
The lawmaker promised to continue serving with integrity and dedication, with a firm focus on improving the welfare of his constituents. He also reiterated his unwavering support for the SHINE agenda of the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Highlighting his record in office, Ibhamawu cited the construction of classroom blocks in primary schools, provision of water boreholes, road projects, and healthcare initiatives, assuring constituents of more impactful projects if re-elected.
In his remarks, former Speaker, Hon. Thomas Okosun commended Ibhamawu for fulfilling his campaign promises, particularly his role in the revival of Ambrose Alli University and delivery of key infrastructure in the area.
“We are here to urge you to return and represent us. Your mission to serve the people has been commendable. Ambrose Alli University is regaining its glory, and we need you to continue supporting the governor and sustaining the development strides,” Okosun said.
