‎Nigerian sprint sensation Kanyinsola Ajayi produced a stunning performance at the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, Kentucky, after blazing to a wind-assisted 9.90 seconds to win his 100m heat, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
‎Running with a legal wind reading of 1.2m/s, Ajayi bounced back strongly after missing out on the final of the event at the SEC Championships earlier this season.
‎The impressive time now makes the Nigerian the fastest man in the NCAA this year and the second fastest athlete in the world so far this season.
‎Ajayi dominated the race from start to finish, crossing the line comfortably ahead of Davonte Howell, who finished second in 10.09 seconds.
‎The performance further underlines Ajayi’s growing status as one of the brightest sprint talents in collegiate athletics and boosts expectations ahead of the NCAA Championships.
