BENIN CITY – The Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called for deeper collaboration with Manroy Global Services Limited as part of efforts to strengthen media practice and professional development in the region.

This followed a courtesy visit by the newly elected executive members of the chapel to the company’s office, aimed at formally introducing the new leadership and exploring areas of mutual support.

Leading the delegation, Chapel Chairman, Comrade Akpokona Omafuaire, said the engagement was in line with the union’s drive to build strategic partnerships with organisations committed to media growth and development.

He reaffirmed the chapel’s commitment to professionalism, improved information dissemination, and continuous capacity building for journalists, particularly in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence.

Omafuaire also appealed for support in key areas including members’ welfare, transportation, internet access, and training programmes to enhance productivity within the chapel.

In his response, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Manroy Global Services, Mr. Mike Taniowho, expressed the company’s readiness to collaborate with the NUJ, describing the media as a critical partner in national development.

He assured the chapel of the company’s willingness to support initiatives that promote effective journalism and capacity enhancement.

Also speaking, Director of the company, Silver Ofugara, commended journalists for their contributions to societal growth, noting that Manroy Global Services had consistently engaged in corporate social responsibility projects.

He listed some of the company’s interventions to include donation of transformers, educational support programmes, medical outreaches, and sponsorship of surgeries for indigent persons.

Ofugara reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the welfare, efficiency, and professional capacity of journalists in the country.
