‎Management of Bendel Insurance Football Club has approved a 3-week break for players and officials with effect from June 10,2026.
‎The players and coaches including the backroom staff are expected to return to work on the 4th of July while training is scheduled to commence the following day.
‎The General Manager,Bendel Insurance FC Charles Ohimekpen in a meeting with the players, coaches and the backroom staff at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium today,delivered the goodwill message of Insurance FC management to the team, urging them to remain disciplined and always be conscious of their status as professional football players as they enjoy their holidays.
‎According to Mr Ihimekpen, “despite the heartbreaking and embarrassing result we posted against El-Kanemi Warriors leading to the dramatic exit from the President Federation Cup on Saturday,June 6,2026, management still remains grateful to God and expressed appreciation for the good fight and the sacrifices the players made to finish fifth on the premier league table.”
‎”We could not achieve what we planned to get,but when you look back to where we are coming from,there is need to thank God and still appreciate you guys”.
‎Management is not happy about how we threw away first half 3-0 lead in the second half and went into shootouts and lost to El-Kanemi Warriors. We hope all of us have learnt a lesson so that next season we do not allow such a disaster.
‎The management of Bendel Insurance FC wishes the players and coaches a happy end of season break and advised them to keep themselves healthy with their beloved families.
‎Also speaking at the general meeting,the technical manager of the Benin Arsenals Kennedy Boboye who could not hide his disappointment with the performance of his team against El-Kanemi Warriors advised the players that are going to remain with Insurance in the 2027 season to be ready to clean up the mess with more dedication and patriotism  and work harder to erase the painful memories of the Federation Cup round of 16 dramatic loss,when they return.
‎” It is a show of shame and something very painful that will remain with us for a long time. It is a result difficult for a club like us to accept” Boboye reacted.
‎He wished them safe trips to their various destinations.
‎Responding from the side of the players, Kayode Solomon Oke, apologized to the management and fans of Bendel Insurance FC over the embarrassing result against El-Kanemi Warriors and promised that they will make up for the painful loss in the 2026/27 football season.
