The NWFL Premiership Media Directors Forum (NWFLPMDF) congratulates Edo Queens FC on their premier title win on Sunday.
The media professionas forum described Edo Queens victory as a  hard-fought and well-deserved victory at the just concluded 2026 NWFL Premiership Super Six playoffs in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
After a hard-fought campaign marked by excellence and resilience, Edo Queens FC proved their mettle by going ahead of other equally formidable challengers to clinch the title and a ticket to represent the nation at the continent for the second time.
The Forum in a congratulatory message signed  by it’s Secretary Chinedu Charles urges the champions to carry Nigeria’s flag with pride and resilience as they get ready to represent the nation at the WAFU-B Women’s Zonal playoffs in Burkina Faso from August 13 – September 05 where they will be expected to secure ticket for the CAF Women’s champions League and a potential route to the FiFA Women’s Club World Cup.
The Benin-based topflight team were the fourth best side in Africa in their first experience in the women CAF champions league in 2024.
The Forum also commended other clubs who took part in the season’s ending decisive playoffs for their commitment, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship throughout the 2026 season.
The Forum encourages all the teams to build on this momentum as preparations begin in earnest for the next league season.
