Life in itself is a great challenge and staying alive is more challenging but to conquer every life challenge is a task that one must embark on to survive.

Surviving difficult situations and challenges like what we are experiencing in Nigeria today due to the prevailing economy, political, social and the security situation as a nation needs more strategic planning to overcome to enable one embrace and experience true victory.

Victory does not come by chance or luck but through preparation planning and prayers which will yield fruits of undeniable testimonies with bold evidence to show that one has overcome the Storm of life.

Talking about overcoming storms in a man’s life, Christ’s Chosen Church of God International recognizes the difficulties that a storm can cause to a man’s destiny, and the Church created a platform through the annual international convention to show Christians the pathway of escape from the storm.

The Christ’s Chosen Church of God Int’l (CCCOGI) under the leadership of God’s General, the elect of God, spiritual leader/Chairman Church Council Snr. Apst. (Dr) David Unuefe Ikhuiwu through the annual international convention 2026 X-rayed various strategic teaching on overcoming the Storm in the life of a man.

Apst Ikhuiwu and other of his lieutenants in the vineyard of God chose a strategic theme for the 2026 international convention of the church which is “No Storm Can Swallow The Boat, Luke 8:22-24”.

The convention which commenced on Wednesday 19th through Monday 24th August 2026 saw members of the church across the world gathered at the international headquarters of the church along Benin-Agbor road, Ohovbe quarters Benin City to receive teachings that will help them overcome the Storm of life.

Topics taught is believed that it will help members overcome challenges caused by the storm of life. These topics taken by various leaders of the church includes: “Peace be still; Let not your heart be troubled; Contend for the faith and Looking on to Jesus.

Other topics taught at the convention are The power of the tongue; Be not deceived; Standing on the rock; The kingdom of God suffereth violence; When tough times persist the tough keeps going and Who is on the Lord’s side?.

In his welcome address, the spiritual leader called on Christians to be absolutely obedient to God to enable them attain all round success and blessings in their lives endeavour.

The Spiritual leader said notwithstanding the economic and security challenges in Nigeria, God’s providence upon his children and the church has continued to strengthen the faith of Christian.

“God’s providence upon his children and the church has continued to strengthen our faith and confidence that with God on our side, we shall continue to achieve success as we earnestly pursue our individual aspirations and God’s vision for the church”.

Following the prevailing security challenges facing the nation, the church in its wisdom knowing that the government both State and federal needs support in fighting insecurity established Chosen Special Duty Marshals (CSDM) to help improve security across all its stations and branches, directing other leaders whose branches are yet to established the CSDM unit to do so.

He urged Nigerians to take proactive steps in strengthening security across worship centers in the Country, appealing to both Muslims and christians to be security conscious.

Noting that there is a high sense of insecurity and urging all to collaborate with the government at all levels to checkmate it and together strengthen security across the nation.

CSDM as a body used the opportunity created by the convention to carry out the investiture of the spiritual leader of the church Snr. Apst. (Dr) David Unuefe Ikhuiwu.

The Church also promoted some deserving long serving members especially 11 officers from Pastors to Apostles as they have served the ministry between 21 to 44 years, 12 from Senior Teachers to appointed pastors and five to Acting Divisional Heads in charge of various divisions of the Church while some others were also promoted to councillors.

Announcing the promotion to the new positions, the spiritual leader of CCCOGI encouraged them to be diligent, focused and committed in their work in the vineyard of God Almighty and do away with the spirit of pride which will lead to their destruction.

The annual international convention ended with high praise to heaven despite the heavy downpour, members were committed as the new auditorium in the international headquarters was filled to capacity with an overflow of members as all were determined to be blessed in the 2026 convention.
